As Microsoft prepares for Window 9 Developer Preview set for announcement on September 30, the Office team is also handing out to beta copy of Office 16 to beta testers to showcase an early look of the update interface and the number of new features that is coming with the new Office Suite from Microsoft. Sources who are closer to Microsoft revealed the company’s plans on what features will be included in the next version of Office. One of which is the most requested feature on Office 2013 is a Black UI theme, though It’s not that of a big important changes to the functionality of the Office suite but users will find working with Office much easier with something that’s not too bright interface and is easy on the eyes.

Upon working with the preview version, users noticed a similar feature found on the online version of the app which closely resembles a feature like Clippy from the old days of early Office suites. It helps users work around the Office suites taking questions and providing prompt answers to users who do not wish to dig into the hierarchy of help system in Office. The Office Ribbon is still present and as always provides an easy access to features without digging-in to a multi-folds of menus. There is also an Automatic Image Rotation features that takes note of camera metadata to correctly position the image inside a document.

Microsoft is also looking to improve the user experience with Office Outlook app, it will now allow users to sync the client to the mail server either 1 day, 3 days, a weeks or a couple of weeks depending on the user preference. This has been improved over the last version helping users who have limited storage space on their device. Microsoft hasn’t talk much about the upcoming Office suite just yet but we bet, it’s one of new improvements that we may want to have in our document editing app.
