Micromax to launch new Windows Phone 8.1 device on Monday June 16, 2014
Micromax seems ready to unveil its own Windows Phone on June 16, 2014, the company just sent out invitations to confirmed the date. The invitation follows the tiled design on Windows Phone with Microsoft’s logo at the bottom together with Qualcomm logo which can be found on the opposite side. This hints the device will indeed be powered by Quadcomm chipset as previous rumors have suggested.
The new Micromax Windows Phone will run the latest Windows Phone 8.1 OS and will fall under the company’s Canvass segment. If we have not forget earlier this year, Microsoft have open its doors to device OEM’s and offered the WP 8.1 OS free of charge to devices with 9-inch and below displays. These have made the upcoming Micromax WP8.1 device position itself between the lower and mid-range market.
As rumors have suggested, Micromax first Windows Phone 8.1 device will feature a 5-inch Full-HD display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor with 1 GB of RAM and a possible 13 Megapixel camera. other specifications are yet to be confirmed on the day of the event.
