Meta Partners with Oakley for Next-Gen Smart Sun Glasses, Launching June 20
Oakley
Smart glasses are entering a new era, and the latest collaboration between Meta and Oakley is proof. Both brands have teased a major announcement set for June 20, promising “the next evolution” in wearable tech.
While details remain scarce, teasers on social media and a sign-up page from Meta suggest a launch is imminent. According to a leaked Bloomberg report, the device is internally known as “Supernova 2” and is expected to carry forward the functionality of the popular Ray-Ban Meta AI Glasses.
What makes this new release more intriguing is Oakley’s rumored athlete-centric approach. The upcoming smart glasses are said to be based on the Oakley Sphaera, featuring a front-mounted center camera, a departure from Ray-Ban’s corner-mounted design. This setup is reportedly optimized for cyclists and performance athletes who need action-ready tech.
No specs or pricing have been confirmed yet. However, if history is any indication, we can expect a launch price close to the $299 tag of the Ray-Ban Meta Glasses.
Stay tuned… June 20 might just bring us the smartest shades yet.
