Producer Frank Marshall is proud to announce “Bourne is back” backed by a single photo showing Matt Daemon who plays Jason Bourne in the Bourne franchise. Matt Daemon haven’t played the role since 2007 after the hugely successful film: Bourne Ultimatum. From the looks of it, it all seems like Daemon is all ready to reprise his role as Jason Bourne for the upcoming 2016 untitled Bourne film.

After Bourne Ultimatum, the series went into hiatus and was given a follow-up which stars Jeremy Renner with the 2012 hit “The Bourne Legacy”. Now as the legend is back, we are awaiting on how the story would collide from the first trilogy to where the Bourne Legacy is heading, though they may be related in some point but it looks like the story would rise in a post Snowden world which inspires the writers of the upcoming film. Aside from Matt Daemon, Julia Stiles is also expected to reprise her role as Nicky Parsons, some stars that will be joining the crew are Tommy Lee Jones who’ll play a high-ranking CIA officer and Alicia Vikander who’s playing an unspecified role. Antagonist to the film would be Viggo Mortenson from the Lord of the Rings and French actor Vincent Cassel would also add in the list of casts. Despite their linkage, Jeremy Renner who plays Aaron Cross in “The Bourne Legacy” won’t be returning to reprise his role.

The upcoming movie has just started filming and is slated to launch worldwide next year and is expected to gross higher knowing that Matt Daemon is back in the film.
