Lumia Camera 5 app coming with Lumia Denim update

Lumia users are eagerly awaiting for Microsoft to release the Lumia Denim update. Announced back in September, users have been wondering what kept Microsoft from rolling out the update or why it seems to take long for the company to release the update. Rumors suggests that the anticipated update wont be coming until early 2015 and will include a number of improvements and bug fixes including a new camera app that would improve the hardware functionality after the update.

Lumia Denim will be shipping with the new Lumia Camera 5, an improved and feature rich update of the popular camera app that first came out as the Nokia Camera. Lumia Camera 5 will feature faster camera speeds, better low-light quality shots, 4K video recording capabilities and “Rich Capture” which is an auto HDR functions and a number of improvements in the camera department.

For the new Camera app, Microsoft will be releasing the Lumia Camera 5 separately from the original Nokia/Lumia Camera currently available. The latest Lumia Camera comes in version 4.9.xx and when the new Lumia Camera 5 becomes available, the current Lumia Camera would be called the Lumia Camera Classic and will still be available for download through the Windows Phone store.

At the moment, that’s all we have regarding the new Camera app and how Microsoft would deliver them. It’s still unclear though as to what reasons why Microsoft will be keeping the existing Lumia Camera 4 when they are making the Lumia Camera as another app for download. Some suspects that the new app would be having new automatic features with less manual controls that the current app has, others have speculated that there might be some changes to the user interface that separates itself from the more basic interface that the current Lumia Camera for is having.
