LG Wine Smart announced, a clamshell smartphone running Lollipop for the international market

LG has kept the pace for the almost forgotten clamshell form factor with the LG Gentle which runs exclusively in South Korea just recently. The LG Gentle runs on the latest Android operating system with a fairly sized touchscreen display matched with a full-sized keypad along with all the necessary buttons on a clamshell device. It surely brings back old memories of the form factor but this time, with the functionality and features of a smartphone, it’s what LG calls their new “Smart Flip Phones”. The handset got a positive feedback in its home country that LG decided to introduce the handset internationally.

Today, LG announced that the new LG Wine Smart which is basically the LG Gentle from south Korea to hit in selected international markets including: Italy, Poland, France, Spain, Kazakhstan, Japan and the United Kingdom.

Coming directly from the LG Gentle, the new LG Wine Smart comes with the same specs as its South Korean version including the 3.2-inch capacitive multitouch IPS display panel. Under the hood, it comes with a 1.1 GHz Quad-core processor, 1 GB of RAM and a modest 4 GB internal storage with a memory expansion option via a microSD card. It also got a front facing camera at 3.15 Megapixel. It supports 4G/LTE connectivity, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.1, GPS and USB 2.0.

The handset runs on the latest Android 5.1.1 Lollipop operating system and is powered by a 1700 mAh Li-Ion battery. If you want to feel nostalgic with the flip phones of the first decade of the century while enjoying the features on today’s technology, the LG Wine Smart is one device that can do all that.
