It’s a new week and a new announcement from LG. This time is destined for the locals, LG introduced a new large screen smartphone the LG Gx in Korea.

The LG Gx is spec’d as its LG Optimus G Pro with few differences in design aesthetics, regional availability and other few minor updates to the familiar customed LG user interface. Other than that, the LG Gx also features the “Knock on” feature found on LG G2 which wakes up the phone with a double tap of the screen. This augmented the function of a physical button.

The LG Gx features a 5.5-inch full HD IPS display and is powered by a Quad Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 processor with 32 GB of on-board storage, 13 MegaPixel main camera, LTE radio and a large power supply with 3,140 mAh battery. It also has a full integration with LG’s Smart TV’s to show any call and text information on the TV screen while watching your favorite programs.

The device is currently scheduled for release within the Korean shores with no further information of a possible international release, but if this should catch the attention of the international community, LG might rethink its regional exclusivity in a few months time.
