Inline with LG G Pad II series, the South Korean tech firm silently made their 8.0 inch of the tablet official. The LG G Pad II 8.0 is an updated version of the G Pad 8.0 of 2014 with minor specs under the hood and some notable addition on its features that made the new tablet unique.

At first glance, the G Pad II 8.0 has remained in close ties with is predecessor. On the outside, the new tablet isn’t something that differentiate itself from last year, in fact the 8.0-inch IPS display still comes with the same 1280 x 800 resolutions and is protected by a scratch resistant Gorilla Glass 3. On the back, it remains all the same with a clean finish but you’ll notice something both on its side and bottom where there lies a new placement for the microSD card slot and the built-in capacitive stylus.

Under the hood are minor changes with an updated Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor running at 1.2 GHz while the RAM is up to 1.5 GB, storage space comes at 32 GB as standard while microSD support is up to 128 GB. It packs the same 4200 mAh battery to keep the tablet on.

For this year’s model, the G Pad II 8.0 now support wireless connectivity through 4G/LTE and HSPA+. Other standard connectivity options are also included in the package including Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0 LE, GPS, InfraRed. To eliminate the for an adapter, LG includes a standard USB 2.0 port so you could readily plug-in your mouse, keyboard or even flashdrives.

For photography enthusiasts, the tablet comes with a 5 Megapixel main camera on the back while the front features a standard 2 Megapixel shooter which should be good enough for Selfies and high-resolution video calls.

The new tablet runs on Android 5.0.2 and includes a bundle of LG exclusive apps and features with enhanced Quick Memo, Knock Code, QPair and other premium apps. LG also promise a full-blown version of Microsoft Office for Android on LG G Pad II 8.0 which makes uses of supported peripherals.

The LG G Pad II 8.0 will be available in South Korea soon. Though we still haven’t heard anything about the possible international release, but we expect LG to launched the tablet internationally like they did last year with the first generation G Pad tablets.
