LG G Pad 8.3 Google Play edition gets updated to Android 5.0 Lollipop

Everyone owning an LG G Pad 8.3 Google Play edition thought were left out from Google update support as other GPe devices were already updated. It turns out that the update has just been delayed for the said device. Everybody with Google Play edition G Pad 8.3 can now breathe easy as Google is finally rolling out the update, though delayed, at least the much awaited version of Android has come to the device.

Users have been reporting to receive notifications of the update since Friday. As the roll out are in batches and is almost certainly will matter if where your are maybe, some users especially in the US are now installing and running the latest version of Android 5.0 Lollipop on their LG G Pad 8.3. The update weighs around 405.4 MB in size and comes with it all there is on Android 5.0 Lollipop which includes a new user interface with Material Design, New notification center, Notification area on the Lock screen, Better power management features with power saving mode, the new Google ART engine and more.

Users should receive a notification on their devices at any moment depending on current location via OTA update, your device may alert you for the update at any moment or later, it usually takes a day or more for the update to get rolling worldwide, so you can just wait for it. For users who can’t wait for the OTA update may download and manually install the downloadable update Zip file.

Your device should check every now and then for any available updates, in cases were you’ve disabled them: Check for updates manually on your tablet by going to:  SettingsAbout Tablet > System Updates.
