Lexus to unveil its new Hoverboard next month, just in time for Back to the Future’s anniversary screening

There may be some other startups that takes to create their own hoverboard but Lexus will have its own ready to unveil next month. The hoverboard was in development for the past 18 months and this time it looks like it’s ready for a world début. Popularized by the creative imaginations from the people behind the movie “Back to the Future”, the hoverboard concept has inspired many iterations and even technological developments which is now becoming a reality.

While the Lexus hoverboard is a working concept, anyone who wants to have one might be out of luck at this time as it may take of a while for the technology to become viable for mass production. There are still things that needs to be develop, for instance the hoverboard would work only on metallic surfaces so it really doesn’t live with the concept depicted in the movies. But as development progress, it will come a time when the hoverboard would be become more useful in more areas and would not require a specific surface to levitate.

Specifically, Lexus will announce the new hoverboard prototype this coming August 5. It looks like Lexus choose the best timing in line with Back to the Future’s anniversary screening. It can’t really take you to the cinema though but at least the technology is already here just like the time when Marty McFly went to the year 2015 in the movie where he got the board.
