The tease is over and Lenovo just announced the new K4 Note or the Vibe K4 Note in India where the company officially launched the device. The new handset isn’t a paradise of everything but Lenovo ensures top experience in sound with high-quality audio and a big presentation on its dual forward-facing speakers. Lenovo positions the Vibe K4 Note as a mid-range device which only means that it comes with an affordable price tag but don’t expect too much with the handset, however, Lenovo maintains the quality of the handset without compromising too much on the specs.

Better sounds with the 1.5 Watt dual speakers and triple mics for better audio recording

The Lenovo Vibe K4 Note is one of the few devices in the market with a dual front speakers setup which was popularized by HTC and has been adopted by a few competing companies in the market but the K4 Note is shipping with a 1.5 Watt dual front speakers and it’s a rarity of devices in the market with this kind of setup. The LG G4 also shipped with a 1.5 Watt speakers and that beast also boost high quality sounds. In addition to that, the Vibe K4 Note also comes with Dolby ATMOS for virtual surround sound effects and a Wolfson WM8281 audio codec specifically for headphone users. The handset is yet to be tested with what it claims to be and Lenovo’s reputation, it’s only a matter of each individual’s perspective on whether the device fulfills its promise.

How well the audio output should also be support by how audio is being fed to the device, with that said, the Lenovo Vibe K4 Note is also equipped with a triple-mic setup with active noise cancellation technology to capture rich and clear audio recordings with not to much ambient and unnecessary sounds that could distract your audio recording experience and better voice clarity when talking on the phone.

Mid-Range but with more than decent specs

The Lenovo Vibe K4 Note may just be your non-flagship handset but its specs are noteworthy still and looks pretty sleek as well with its 5.5-inch full-HD IPS display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 sheet on top. Powering the device is a MediaTek MT6753 SoC with 64-bit 8-Core processor and is accompanied by Mali-T720 MP3 Graphics processor. As we’ve already been told, the K4 Note sports 3 GB of RAM and there’s a regular 16 GB internal storage with microSD card support for storage expansion.

Despite the audio focused features, the Lenovo Vibe K4 Note is also equipped with a decent 13 Megapixel ISOCELL main camera with Phase Detection auto focus and a dual-tone LED flash for better color reproduction and an f/2.2 aperture for a brighter and less noisy images. The front comes with a standard 5 Megapixel camera which should be enough for Selfie and high-resolution video calls.

Fingerprint scanner is a welcome addition for the mid-range market devices

For Connectivity, the Vibe K4 Note includes 4G/LTE connection in addition to 3G/HSPA+ and 2G/GSM wireless connectivity support. Other features includes high-speed Wi-Fi with 802.11ac, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS with A-GPS support. Highly anticipated that is, the new Vibe K4 Note is equipped with a fingerprint scanner, a biometric feature that is commonly found on higher-end devices and the inclusion of such feature on a mid-range device opens doors to having this feature on future mid-end and even entry-level devices. Additionally, the handset also features TheaterMax, a handy feature that turns any multimedia content into 3D virtual reality when the handset is attached on a compatible VR headset. Such feature also indicates that Lenovo might soon enter the VR space just like Samsung did with their Gear VR headset.

The Vibe K4 Note is driven by Android 5.1 (Lollipop) but we’re also expecting a Marshmallow update for this device pretty soon and is running on a large 3300 mAh battery so you could utilize the handset more before having to pin it back on the wall outlet.

The new Lenovo Vibe K4 Note will be available in India starting on January 19, 2016 through AMAZON at a price of only INR 11,999 or roughly US$180.00 with pre-orders are now taken starting today. It is anticipated that the new handset sales will surge up as Lenovo got so much attention when they’ve teased the handset since last month and the specs-to-price ratio is overwhelming that users would want to consider buying the handset against the competition.
