iPhone 17 Air Leak Reveals Ultra-Thin Design and Surprisingly Small Battery

The next generation of the iPhone is approaching quickly, and there’s a growing buzz around the rumored iPhone 17 Air. Although Apple has not yet confirmed its existence, fans and enthusiasts are eagerly anticipating its launch especially since it’s expected to be the thinnest iPhone ever, if it does indeed debut in the coming months.

A new leak from Apple’s supply chain claims that the upcoming iPhone 17 Air will feature an incredibly slim 5.5mm profile, remarkably thin, and comparable to Samsung’s recently launched Galaxy S25 Edge. However, with such a thin design, compromises are inevitable. The internal components are reportedly so tightly packed that sacrifices had to be made to accommodate everything essential.

While there have been complaints about the battery size in the Galaxy S25 Edge, the rumored battery capacity of the iPhone 17 Air is even more concerning. According to the leak, the device will house a modest 2,800mAh battery. By today’s standards, that’s quite small and could negatively impact the user experience.

That said, there’s speculation that Apple may incorporate high-density battery technology, which could offer 15–20% more capacity compared to conventional batteries thus, helping to offset the small physical size.

Additionally, the rumor suggests that the iPhone 17 Air will weigh around 145 grams, aligning with the idea of a smaller battery. To address concerns about battery life, experts believe Apple is developing an AI-powered battery-saving feature, designed to optimize performance and deliver acceptable battery life despite the compact form factor.
