One of these companies on the floor would be Intex a device manufacturer with headquarters in India is anticipated to unveil their first smartphone that will be powered by Jolla’s Sailfish OS 2.0.
NDTV Gadgets got a glimpse of the yet to be unveiled device but no further details has been unveiled as of late. Intex is excited to announce the device today at the MWC Floor in Shanghai. From what we know so far, the handset will be powered by Snapdragon 600 processor with 4G/LTE support and of course the main attraction here isn’t just about the hardware but mainly its operating system as it comes with the latest Sailfish 2.0 OS.
Sailfish 2.0 OS is a vast improvement from its predecessor with its enhanced user interface, better multi-tasking, Intel architecture support and better software integration capabilities. With Jolla’s partnership with Snapdeal, the Intex smartphone device could also be supporting Snapdeal apps and will eventually come pre-installed with the device.
Intex will like also look into introducing its new smartphone in Russia as Jolla also set to open its support for the Russian market. Though this possibility will hold more likely as anticipated, we still need some things confirmed which we’ll have later at the official launch of the device along with the unveiling of its official name in the market.
Intex will be making the new handset available in India for RS 15,000 which sits around $235 before duties and taxes.
