The latest report from China suggest that Huawei is ready to make a huge leap in mobile imaging for its next generation devices. The company is working on what’s called a Liquid Lens which is now in its final stage of testing.
The new technology is said to improved image stabilization as well as high speed focus time down to a couple of milliseconds matching the focus time of the human eye.
According to the report, Huawei will be using the new lens technology for its telephoto camera for the meantime and it is said to use a Sony IMX782 sensor that is yet to be announced.
The technology behind the new Lens uses varying voltage in the module shapeshift the liquid to focus light and unlike the traditional focusing techniques, the new technology is more durable to shock and might just leave mechanical focusing motors on smartphone devices altogether.
