Huawei Honor 7 packing a metal unibody chassis with 20 Megapixel camera and a fingerprint sensor now goes official

As expected, Huawei formally unveiled their new addition in the family in a press event with the new Honor 7. The handset is one of the mid-range devices of Huawei with will be coming in a very affordable price but with a touch of premium design and build. The handset comes with several variants based on their storage space and connectivity features. But everything else are the same with every other bit of features included.

To start with, the new Huawei Honor 7 features a 5.2-inch full-HD display runs on Huawei’s homegrown Kirin 935 chip in a big.Little configuration, that said, the processor has eight cores inside with four cores of which runs at 2.2 GHz of Cortex-A53 and another set of Cortex A53 in four cores at 1.5 GHz. This configuration comes with ARM’s Mali-T628 GPU to handle all the handset’s graphics needs. It comes with 3 GB of RAM and a a number of storage space to choose from that starts at 16 GB, 32 GB and 64 GB of storage. If the built-in storage space isn’t enough, Huawei provides a microSD slot for users to expand their storage memory requirements.

Highlighting the new handset is the included 20 Megapixel camera on its back with the much speculated Phase Detection Auto Focus on board. As most experts have suggested, the Honor 7 should come with Sony’s IMX230 sensor, though this isn’t officially confirmed at the moment, we favor more likely about the idea. The main camera also includes a f/2.0 aperture, 6-Element lens and a sapphire glass for protection. Along with these improvement on the main camera, the Huawei Honor 7 has also upgraded the front camera with an 8 Megapixel sensor with its wide-angle lens.

Feature-wise, the Huawei Honor 7 comes with a fingerprint reader similar to the company’s Mate 7. The module sits on the back just below the main camera module. Aside from making secured online purchases and other transactions, the fingerprint reader can also be use to unlock the phone with just one tap of a finger, now that’s more easy and secure.

For connectivity, the handset features 4G/LTE connection as well as WCDMA and GSM support for wireless network connectivity. Other standard connectivity features included as standard are as follows: Dual-band Wi-Fi IEEE 802.11 b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.1, NFC and USB 2.0. It also comes with GPS with GPS-Assist and GLONASS support.

Other details includes a large 3100 mAh battery with fast-charging capabilities that could juice-up the battery from zero to 50% in just 30 minutes or goes to a full-charge after an hour and 25 minutes. It comes with Huawei’s latest EMUI version 3.1 that is based on Android 5.0 Lollipop which will truly brings the latest features that Android OS has plus the set of exclusive customization and features from Huewei.

Like we said earlier, The new Huawei Honor 7 is an affordable device and is available in three variants, there’s the 16 GB base model variant with single SIM will cost for just only $322 while the dual SIM variant that supports dual-standby will set you back at $355 and their top of the line variant that comes with dual SIM and a hefty 64 GB internal storage space will cost you $400.
