Huawei announced the Mate 9 Pro with a 5.5-inch dual curved QHD display

As suspected, Huawei will eventually release a curved-edge Mate 9. Now with the same physical characteristics of the limited edition Porsche Design handset, Huawei suddenly announced the Huawei Mate 9 Pro that is basically the same 5.5-inch with dual-curves version of the handset but without the car related branding.
So, in comparison with the regular Mate 9 which has a 5.9-inch screen, the Mate 9 Pro sport as already mentioned a 5.5-inch screen with a dual-curved display and features a QHD resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels. The Mate 9 Pro also includes a fingerprint scanner but instead of having one on the back, the Pro variant has its sensor embedded on the Home button in front of the device.

The rest of the specs are that of a regular high-performance Mate 9 with its Kirin 960 chipset, Leica Dual-camera and all other goodies. What’s more is that it comes in two configurations, one will sport a regular 4GB/64GB RAM and storage combo while the more premium holds 6GB/128GB of RAM and storage space.

Understandably as obviously evident on its name itself, the Mate 9 Pro will have a higher price than the regular Mate 9. It starts at CNY 4699 for the base model and CNY 5299 for the more premium variant. It goes on sale in China alongside with the regular Mate 9 for the meantime but eventually will become available worldwide.
