There has been rumors that Google will soon release an 8-inch tablet that is scheduled to debut on the third quarter this year. That rumor may come into life as new information suggest that Google taps HTC to build the Nexus 8 despite their partnership with Asustek with the two generations of Nexus 7.
Google was reportedly been consulting HTC to build the Nexus 7 but apparently HTC at that time was to busy with its smartphone business and with that, Google turned to Asustek instead. Given their previous collaboration with the first Nexus device the Nexus One, HTC will once again collaborate with the Search and Services giant to come out with a tablet that should bring a fresh new design and experience.
Following Google’s timeline on releasing new phones and tablet devices and based on information provided by supply chains, Google is expected is introduce the new tablet during its I/O conference which usually takes place about the last week of second quarter and expects to release the device after that would be around the third quarter. DigiTimes suggest a less aggressive approach in introducing the new tablet as the previous versions has made well enough to spawn a numerous number devices that allowed Android to penetrate the tablet sector.
