Google is expanding access to its latest AI model, Gemini 4 Argon, bringing it to the Gemini app and AI Mode in Google Search. Announced on October 13, 2026, the rollout gives Google AI Pro and Ultra subscribers a new option for handling more complex requests.

Unlike models aimed primarily at quick everyday answers, Gemini 4 Argon is built for deeper reasoning and multi-step tasks, including coding, scientific research, financial analysis, and legal work. Google says it can work through demanding problems with greater precision while providing clearer progress updates during longer tasks.

In the Gemini app, eligible subscribers can select Argon for their conversations and more ambitious projects. In Search, the model is available through AI Mode, where it can help users explore complicated questions and follow-up requests. Availability is rolling out globally, although access depends on the user’s subscription and the feature’s availability in their account.

Gemini 4 Argon is also available to developers and businesses through Google’s AI development platforms. For everyday users, however, Google AI Pro or Ultra is required to access Argon in the Gemini app and AI Mode. The rollout gives paying subscribers another way to use Google’s AI tools for tasks that require more than a quick answer.
