Google officially announced the new Nexus 9 tablet with NVidia Tegra K1 processor

Google has official pulled the new Nexus 9 out of the bag, manufactured by HTC, the rumors and leaks has been spot-on all along for the new Nexus tablet. The Nexus 9 device is also HTC’s comeback into the tablet game and this time its backed by Google with official Google Nexus specifications.

The new Nexus 9 by HTC will shipped with the newly announced Android 5 Lollipop on-board and packs a 9-inch IPS display with a not so common resolutions at 2048 x 1536 with 4:3 aspect ratio. Under the hood is NvIdia Tegra K1 processor which runs at 2.3 GHZ, a Kepler DX1 Graphics processing unit with 2 GB RAM are just one of the top notch features of the new Nexus 9. Since then, Google has always maintained a restricted storage options for its Nexus devices, with that in mind users should settle down on two variants with one having 16 GB of storage while the other sports a beefier 32 GB built-in storage.

Nexus 6 also support full telephony function with support for penta-band HSPA+ or LTE, other connectivity options includes Wi-Fi 802.11ac 2×2, Bluetooth 4.1 and NFC.

Knowing that the new Nexus 9 comes from HTC, the OEM also includes its BoomSound stereo speaker technology into the new tablet. Also, Nexus 9 has an improve shooting capabilities for a tablet as it features an 8 Megapixel camera on the back along with LED flash and 1.6 Megapixel on the front for basic selfie shoots and video calls. Measuring at 7.9 mm thick and weighing 425 grams, the new Google Nexus 9 comes with 6700 mAh battery that should be enough to last a day.

Together with the new tablet. Google also announced a new accessory designed for the new Nexus 9 with an optional magnetic keyboard which turns the tablet into something like a regular netbook that provides better typing ergonomics with increased productivity altogether.


The new HTC Nexus 9 will shipped starting on November 3 but Google is taking pre-orders as early as October 17 with pricing yet to be confirmed. The new Tablet is available in a variety of color options which includes: Black, Beige and White.
