Google Nexus 5 officially Unveiled
4.95-inch fHD display, 2.3GHz Snapdragon 800 CPU, 2GB RAM, 2,300 mAh Battery with Android 4.4 (KitKat)
After months of leaks and gossips, Google officially announced the long awaited successor to the Nexus line of smartphones – the Nexus 5. Most features described during the unveiling had been leaked before by third party sources and a few more from Google itself. The unveiling of the new Nexus 5 itself only confirms the truth behind previous rumors and leaks plus a few more things to come out along the release of the Nexus 5.
Backed by Google and manufactured by LG, The new Nexus 5 replaces the throne that the Nexus 4 enjoyed for a year with a boast on both performance and style. Coming right out of the box, Nexus 5 runs Android 4.4 (KitKat) making it the first line of devices to run the latest and greatest version of Android OS to date. At the same time of its official announcement, Google made the new Nexus 5 now available for orders o Google Play Store in the US and starts at $349 AT&T, Sprint and T-Mobile users and comes in either black or white.
There is a little to no surprise here when it comes to its specs, No surprises since all the official specs that comes with the new device has been known already prior to the official announcement by dozens of rumors and leaks online. But without hesitation it would be nice as well to take this time into consideration as we also have readers who might not have a little less idea about the new Nexus 5.
The LG Nexus 5 comes pretty loaded with features such as its 4.95-inch Full-HD display and is powered by a 2.3 GHz Quad Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor backed by 2GB of RAM. A selection of either 16GB or 32GB on-board storage space, WiFi (a/b/g/n), Bluetooth 4.0 LE, NFC and LTE radio. The main camera still features an 8 Megapixel sensor but is equipped with an Optical Image Stabilization (OIS). Everything keeps up and running with a 2,300 mAh non-removable battery.

On its design perspective, the new Nexus 5 flashes itself up with a minimalist view of the front and is fully protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3 making it robust, lightweight and much slimmer front profile. On the back, changes from its predecessor is evident, aside from the notable larger camera module, the back of the unit is adorned with a plastic shell with a silky textured finish in which according to Sundar Pichai, “it’s quite reminiscent of the redesigned Nexus 7 that debuted earlier this year”.
As we have mentioned earlier, The new Nexus 5 is now available on Google Play store but unfortunately, those who are looking for its cheaper version but failed to pre-order one may be out of luck as of the moment, according to the latest update from our source, The 16GB version of both colors are now completely sold out while the 32GB version can still be ordered but might as well goes into the same status as its 16GB sibling with no hopes to be replenished as of this time. All orders are scheduled for shipment starting November 8 and should have the package on hand within 2 business days at most.
