Google I/O 2014: Android wear revealed, Android for the wrist
Google finally unveiled the revolutionary platform for smartwatch and wearable devices. Android Wear is Google’s attempt to provide a universal platform for wearble smart devices that will provide straight up information on the spot. This platform is based on Android and connects seamlessly with any Android powered devices.
Android Wear devices will automatically sync information between devices and display information on the fly. Android Wear initiative is to provide prompt information to the user without the need to open up their smartphones and devices just to view a set of information, the Wear device can do that for users.
Currently, Google has initially unveiled two types of faces for Android Wear; square and round type. two of which is coming out in stores soon, the LG G Watch and Samsung’s Gear Live takes the conventional rectangular shape of smartwatches. Motorola on the other hand takes its design more into the traditional rounded type with its upcoming Moto360. Though most smartwatches are rectangular in shape, most netizens and tech enthusiasts find the Moto360 a more desirable approaches since it features a design being love by people since the dawn of the time piece.
LG, Samsung and Motorola are just a few of the companies pioneering the new platform. In due time however, Google hopes that other OEM’s will join in to expand the reach of the new platform.
