Samsung quietly unveiled a new updated variant of its current flagship device with the new Galaxy S5 Plus. Like last year’s Galaxy S4 LTE-A, the latest iteration of the flagship offers processing improvements as well as a faster LTE connectivity.

While the Galaxy S5 was originally introduced having a 2.5 GHz Snapdragon 801 processor, the new Galaxy S5 Plus runs on Snapdragon 805 processor which has the same speed at 2.5 GHz but features a new core – Krait 450, it has also updated its GPU to the latest 4xx series with Adreno 420.

In addition to the improved performance, Galaxy S5 Plus also comes with a Cat.6 LTE radio which is a significant upgrade from Cat.4 LTE of the Galaxy S5 which launched early this year, aside from these differences mentioned, the Galaxy S5 Plus also features a 5.1-inch display with 1080p resolution, 16 Megapixel camera with 4K video capture, 2GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal storage and of course an option to expand the device storage with micro-SD card. It also comes with the same removable 2800 mAh battery but considering the new chipset is more power efficient, well expect the new Galaxy S5 Plus last a little bit longer than its older brother.

According to our sources, Samsung has chosen Netherlands for the first batch of the new handset, Since the Korean tech giant has kept silent with the new handset, it’s still unclear if the company will also release the handset to other countries.
