Microsoft isn’t giving up its fight in the mobile platform and is about to unleash their latest operating system in line with the recently launched Windows 10 on the PC. While the software is being readied for a big launch later this year, the software and equipment manufacturer is also rumored to announced its much awaited mobile device which is expected to introduce Windows 10 Mobile in the market.
As much as anticipation now escalates, rumors about the upcoming Windows 10 Mobile flagship devices are even more convincing as more information are coming in. These devices which are known internally for their codenames as Talkman and Cityman, might become the new Lumia 950 and the Lumia 950 XL respectively.
Both the Lumia 950 and the Lumia 950 XL will be the successor of the popular Lumia 930 and as you noticed, Microsoft is jumping skipping a notch from the usual naming convention and this might as well follows the tradition that Nokia has implemented on releasing their devices in the past where they would skip the number “4” in the series or perhaps just following the way windows 10 got its name where Microsoft decidedly skipped one major numerical sequence and opted for “10” instead of “9′.
More with Lumia 950 variants, the handset will have a premium metallic unibody design. is is said to come with USB Type-C omnidirectional connector. both Lumia devices will also feature a 2K resolution display. It will also comes with a standard 32 GB of built-in storage with options to expand its storage with microSD.
For the Lumia 950 codename Talkman, the handset will be powered by a 6-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 610 SoC with 3000 mAh of embedded battery. It comes with a 5.1-inch display and will also support Windows Continuum feature via a separate accessory cable.
The Lumia 950 XL or internally known as the Lumia Cityman will have an even larger display at 5.7-inches and this will also include a 2K resolution display like its regular variant. with its size upgraded, you’d also expect more upgrades internally and the Lumia 950 XL is basically going to have just that as it will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor and this will be accompanied by 3 GB of RAM, there’s also a much higher 3300 mAh battery to accommodate its performance features.
One significant improvements on the new Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL (as claimed with the latest leaks) is found in its 20 Megapixel main camera module where these handsets will have a performance and quality boost from its predecessor. The main camera module will also feature an improved Optical Image stabilization (OIS) system. There will also be a 5 Megapixel shooter on the front which will surely be a hit to customers who loves to take a selfie.

In addition to that and more specifically with the Lumia 950 XL, apart from the common improvements in the camera department, the Lumia 950 XL will have a triple-LED flash which will improve how the camera on the said device would perform.

While Microsoft has kept its silence to the matter, The Lumia 950 and the Lumia 950 XL might as well have its debut together with Windows 10 Mobile later this year, some sources points to a later date but as news keeps coming in, we’ll have an even more earlier release if we are going to believe the more recent leaks which points to October this year.
