COVID-19 forced most of us to stay at home and due to lockdowns and quarantines imposed by our local government we come to realize that being close with those we love in getting difficult in this trying times.

Facebook, our most beloved social media platform came up with a new reaction character to show our love and care with our loved ones from afar. The new reaction character will be the seventh reaction icon and will join the thumbs up and five others. Facebook Messenger also has a new purple heart emoji which users can active by long pressing the existing heart reaction.
“We know this is an uncertain time, and we wanted people to be able to show their support in ways that let their friends and family know they are thinking of them,”
– Alexandru Voica, Facebook’s EMEA Communications Manager for Engineering tweeted.
Reaction icons maybe just a little addition to the platform but during this period, we all want to show the people we know that we care for them and that we recognize what they do and what they post on Facebook and just be having these reactions to their post shows our appreciation to them.
We’re launching new Care reactions on @facebookapp and @Messenger as a way for people to share their support with one another during this unprecedented time.

We hope these reactions give people additional ways to show their support during the #COVID19 crisis. pic.twitter.com/HunGyK8KQw
