Rumors ends here as Samsung finally rolls out the Marshmallow update for the first generation Galaxy Tab S. Earlier, there’s a misguided information regarding Samsung’s stand on updating the first Galaxy Tab S. The tablet is was released in 2014 and came loaded with Android 4.4.4 KitKat, two years later, Samsung is confident to upgrade the tablet to Android 6.0 to give it a fresh breath of air for one last time.

Today, owners of the first-gen Galaxy Tab S 10.5 (for the mean time) will start to receive the much awaited Android 6.0 Marshmallow update. The whole update package weighs around 800 MB in size and is hitting first in Germany and specifically to Galaxy Tab S 10.5 LTE variants. The update is currently being deployed via OTA and per region so if your tablet still haven’t receive any notification regarding the update, you might have to wait for a while before they could reach your device however if you are impatient to wait any further then you can always manually check for any updates through the settings menu.

Being a 2-year old device, the Galaxy Tab S 10.5 LTE might be the first one to receive such update but we believe that Samsung should have other pending update for other devices in their line-up so let’s see which other Samsung devices gets update in the coming weeks. For now, it’s good to know that Samsung still bothers to update their older devices.
