The highly acclaimed and the most popular strategy game of all time, Blizzard’s original StarCraft is getting a makeover. The remastered version of the game will put the title back into new generation PC’s with support for 4K video with improved sounds. Let’s not pit this one with the latest StarCraft 2 as they are features different generation of players and graphics styling. For the most part, StarCraft remastered retains key elements from the original release with the same dark ambiance with a bit more polished and refined.
The new version also includes a new feature including matchmaking and leaderboard system with each player’s status and progress can be saved to the cloud while maintaining the same gameplay. While this one comes with updated graphics to take advantage with the new video technologies, players may switch from the new and old visual aesthetics on the fly with the F7 key. Though according to blizzard, the visual difference are minute as they at least they should be less quirkier than the original especially when they are played in 4K.
StarCraft: Remastered will cost $15/£14 and will be available for both Windows and Mac and is scheduled for release this coming August. Pre-order is up from the Blizzard shop with the link at the source below.
