Dr. Dre suing Chinese conterfeiters of its popular Beats by Dre products

Dr. Dre who made a fortune with his company Beats by Dre from selling headphones and lately was sold to Apple. Now Dr. Dre want to stop counterfeit items bearing his company’s logo from selling out. These  Chinese-made cheap knockoffs are being sold on different unnamed websites in China and most likely are also being sold on local shops around the world where the market for counterfeit items are prevalent.

Beats by Dre is loosing more than US$135 Billion dollars in revenue from these cheaply made knockoffs and is now pursuing to address this issue as they would lose more if they do nothing about it. The lawsuit targets the counterfeiters, stop the selling of these fake products and taking over all websites involved in selling of these fake Beats products. Dre also pointed out in the lawsuit that their product is the headphone of choice for personalities like Lady Gaga, Justin Beiber, Diddy and tons of other celebrities, so it has a vested interest in protecting its trademark.
