DOH launches KIRA: an AI Chatbot for reliable COVID-19 information
With so many fake news these days, we’re out to get reliable information from trusted sources. The Department of Health, together with Facebook launched a new AI chatbot named KIRA as a real-time Go-To information delivery service for a reliable and accurate information on guidelines and facts about COVID-19.
With KIRA or Katuwang na Impormasyon para sa Responsableng Aksyon, users will be able to ask questions and get access to any information regarding COVID-19 including tips to stay healthy, A Self Check tool to assess symptoms, and guidelines about our existing Quarantine .
The response will be in real-time and will respond to user queries like they are chatting with a real person. KIRA is available through DOH Facebook page Messenger, in their Viber community and DOH’s KontraCOVID PH website.
Apart from Facebook, DOH is also working with other companies to make KIRA available to other platforms including telecommunications companies to make KIRA accessible on mobile devices for free.
