As DOH Central Visayas released its local daily case bulletin, Cebu City registered 97 new cases, this is followed by the Cebu province which registered a total of 59. Other cities in Metro Cebu which includes: Mandaue City and Lapu-Lapu City yielded 22 and 9 new COVID-19 cases respectively.
On the other hand, Negros Oriental registered 11 new cases while Bohol has 2. For January 23 alone, the DOH in Central Visayas has reported a total of 200 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 from tests done in 12 out of 13 accredited laboratories in the region.
