COVID-19 in the Philippines is now at 4,648, with 40 new recoveries and 50 new deaths on Easter Sunday

DOH released COVID-19 CASE BULLETIN #029 at 16:00H (4:00PM PST) on April 12, 2020.

The department of Health on Easter Sunday reported 220 new COVID-19 cases in the country with a total confirmed cases rising to 4,648. We also have 40 new recoveries and that totals to 197 recoveries so far.

With today’s report, the health department also announced 50 new deaths due to the virus and with that we now have a death toll of 297.


COVID-19 was declared by World Health Organization (WHO) as a Pandemic on March 03, 2020 which started in Wuhan, China. The disease is caused by Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome – coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV2) with a Flu like symptoms such as Fever, Cough, Colds and in more severe cases Difficulty in Breathing.

There are no vaccines or direct cure for the disease at the moment and the only way to protect ourselves from getting infected is to practise proper and frequent handwashing, avoid touching our face, mouth, nose and eyes. Our health experts strongly suggests that we wear face masks as much as possible.
