DOH released COVID-19 CASE BULLETIN #023 at 16:00H (4:00PM PST) on April 06, 2020.
We are on the first day of the week and at the same time the first day of the Catholic Holy Week celebration but with the new week on us, we also have one of the few surges of cases recorded.
As of today, the number of COVID-19 Positive in the country is now at 3,660, that’s up for about 414 new cases than yesterday’s report.
Along with that, the Department of Health also reported 11 new deaths which the country now has a death toll of 163.
While these numbers are rising by the day, we also sees 9 new recoveries and that totals to 73 patients who recovered from the disease.

COVID-19 was declared by World Health Organization (WHO) as a Pandemic on March 03, 2020 which started in Wuhan, China. The disease is caused by Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome – coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV2) with a Flu like symptoms such as Fever, Cough, Colds and in more severe cases Difficulty in Breathing.
There are no vaccines or direct cure for the disease at the moment and the only way to protect ourselves from getting infected is to practise proper and frequent handwashing, avoid touching our face, mouth, nose and eyes. Our health experts strongly suggests that we wear face masks as much as possible.
