COVID-19 cases in the Philippines crosses the 4K mark: Now at 4,076

DOH released COVID-19 CASE BULLETIN #026 at 16:00H (4:00PM PST) on April 09, 2020.

With today’s report, the Department of Health added 206 new COVID-19 cases in its census which makes our new total number of confirmed cases in the country to 4,076.

We have recorded 28 new recoveries with a total of 124 recoveries so far but we also have 21 new deaths which brings us to a death toll of 203.

COVID-19 was declared by World Health Organization (WHO) as a Pandemic on March 03, 2020 which started in Wuhan, China. The disease is caused by Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome – coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV2) with a Flu like symptoms such as Fever, Cough, Colds and in more severe cases Difficulty in Breathing.

There are no vaccines or direct cure for the disease at the moment and the only way to protect ourselves from getting infected is to practise proper and frequent handwashing, avoid touching our face, mouth, nose and eyes. Our health experts strongly suggests that we wear face masks as much as possible.
