For years Corning has develop new glass surface technologies that resist scratches and improving strength to hold them from breaking. Now the company has unveiled next generation Corning Gorilla Glass: Victus.

Gorilla Glass Victus is the successor of Gorilla Glass 6 with a significantly improved drop and scratch performance ever, making it one of the toughest Gorilla Glass yet developed by Corning.

Compared to other competing glass products, tests showed that the new Gorilla Glass Victus can easily survive a 2-meter drop test on a rough concrete surface while a typical non Gorilla glass gets shattered within just 0.8-meter and the fact that it can hold for about a 100 kg of force over a competing product is a huge advantage for the new Gorilla Glass Victus.

It can also take just about anything like keys, coins and even sand with no scratch. During a Knoop Diamond scratch test, the new Gorilla Glass Victus gets only a minor scratch with an 8 Newton load while a typical Aluminosilicate glass was adversely affected with just 4 Newton load.
