Close to a thousand and a half new cases of COVID-19 were added today

The Department of Health (DOH) released COVID-19 Daily Bulletin No. 112 for July 04, 2020 at 4:00 PM. This bulletin reports 1,494 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 for today with details down below:

Fresh Cases: 403 (NCR: 180 / Region 7: 90 / Others: 133)

Late Cases: 1,091 (NCR: 499 / Region 7: 146 / Others: 434 / Repatriate: 12)

With these numbers together with yesterday’s figure, the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the country jumps to 41,830 with a Death toll of 1,290 after 10 reported deaths were added.

This bulletin also reports 380 new recoveries, which makes our total number of recoveries to 11,453.

The World Health Organization (WHO) declared COVID-19 as a Pandemic on March 03, 2020 which started in Wuhan, China. The disease is caused by Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome – coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV2) with a Flu like symptoms such as Fever, Cough, Colds and in more severe cases Difficulty in Breathing.

Pharmaceuticals around the world are actively engaged in clinical research, testing and trials for vaccines to eradicate the COVID-19 virus and to conclude their efficacy and effectiveness. As the world awaits for a vaccine for COVID-19, the only way to protect ourselves from getting infected is to practise proper and frequent handwashing, avoid touching our face, mouth, nose and eyes.
