CES 2020: Razer Tomahawk – a Modular desktop gaming PC
Built on Intel NUC Element for the most compact Desktop gaming rig
When it comes to gaming, Razer already released a huge portfolio of gaming peripherals, accessories and laptops but the company hasn’t really released their own desktop PC creations until today. The company just unveiled its new Tomahawk Desktop gaming PC.
The new Desktop PC has a modular design with a mix of metal and tempered glass case and uses an Intel NUC Element modular computer card instead of a standard desktop CPU and Motherboard. This resulted to a super small form-factor for desktops but just big enough to fit a full-sized desktop GPU.
The main NUC brain of the Tomahawk is swappable with up to a 45W Core i9-9980HK Mobile CPU complete built-in cooling, memory slots, storage, a built-in Wi-Fi 6 and with all the ports and components need to run a desktop PC is there. Razer provides the power supply, GPU, SSD, RAM, fans, the OS and all needed peripherals for the Desktop build.
Razer revealed that the full turnkey system should be available for consumers by June but didn’t specifically says about the price. The company could settle for the full-blown system at around $2,000 and that includes an Intel Core i7, 16GB RAM with 512GB of SSD with an undisclosed RTX 20-series GPU. The top of the line variant goes for the Core i9 with 64GB of RAM and a GeForce RTX 280 Super.
