CDC: A toxic compound on vapes and e-cigars may be the cause of the mystery illness

The Center for Disease Control (CDC) is now edging closer to understand what causes the Mystery Illness that hit e-cigarette users. The CDC has identified Vitamin E Acetate to be the probable cause of the illness. The chemical is used to dilute liquid or oil in e-cigarette and vaping products including with THC.
The chemical of concern was found in all 29 Tissue samples from patients diagnosed with the disease. It’s not the only chemical found though, from the tests, it also detected 26 out of the samples with THC and 16 of them with Nicotine.
Even with these findings, the CDC still doesn’t recognized Vitamin E Acetate as the leading cause of the problem as there may be another factor in the equation but nonetheless, the agency suggests that users should avoid e-cigarettes, vape and vapes with THC additives especially from “informal sources”. It also suggest that companies should not add the compound to their products until there’s a definitive cause of the problem and/or until solutions are found.
