Casio unveils a NASA-themed G-Shock digital watch

Smartwatches may be the craze at the moment but the old time-tested digital LCD watches is here to stay. In celebration for the Apollo 13 mission 50th Anniversary, Casio launched a NASA-themed G-Shock to commemorate the event.

The limited edition DW5600NASA20 G-Shock digital watch is encased in an all white shell reminiscent to the color of choice from the olden days of space shuttle and space race and sport the iconic NASA‘s “Worm Logo” on top. There’s also a markings on the strap that reads “National Aeronautics and Space Administration”.

Basic G-shock features are there on the watch with a nifty little surprises with the EL backlight when turned on will display the moon in the background. On the back you’d also see a moon etched on the metal case cover.

Moreover, the tin can packaging is also themed match the watch with an American Space rocket like the Saturn V.

The wristwatch costs on for about $130 but the real question is not about the price but how to get your hands on one as Casio had already sold out on its first initial batch and they are set ship those orders by May 6, so expect a quite tedious if you really need to have one.
