BlackBerry Priv with slide out keyboard now available in the Philippines for 39,990 Php

The highly anticipated BlackBerry device is finally here in the Philippines. The new BlackBerry Priv powered by Android 5.1 (Lollipop) is the company’s latest mobile device and is the first device that the company ever produced that boots entirely on Android. It also marks the departure of BlackBerry from its ancestral home of the then BlackBerry OS to expand to a more diverse operating system with signature BlackBerry hardware and software features.

The new Priv handset features a slide out keyboard with signature BlackBerry functional QWERTY keys and the display is a 5.4-inch with 2560 x 1440 display resolutions. With the keyboard kept, it measures 147 x 77.2 x 9.4 mm, an additional 37 mm which totals to about 184 mm in height with the keyboard slider out and weighs around 192 grams. Under the hood is a Snapdragon 808 chipset from Qualcomm with 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of expandable storage.

It comes equipped with an 18 Megapixel main camera with OIS, BSI2, Phase Detection Auto Focus and a dual-tone LED flash totals the back while a standard 2 Megapixel Selfie camera stay on the front with wide-angle lens.

It comes with 4G/LTE support with standard connectivity features including 3G and 2G wireless network connectivity on a single nano-SIM, Wi-Fi 802.11ac and Wi-Fi b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1, NFC and GPS. It houses a large 3410 mAh embedded Li-Ion battery with Qualcomm Quick Charge 2.0 technology and wireless charging (currently available in the US).

Feature-wise, the BlackBerry Priv comes loaded with BlackBerry built-in premium apps including BBM®, BBM® Meetings, BlackBerry® Camera, BlackBerry® Content Transfer, BlackBerry® Device Search, BlackBerry® Keyboard, BlackBerry® Password Keeper, Calendar by BlackBerry®, Contacts by BlackBerry®, DTEK™ by BlackBerry®, Help, Notes by BlackBerry®, Tasks by BlackBerry®, Yahoo!® Finance, BlackBerry® Hub. It also includes most of Android’s built-in Google apps and services.

The new BlackBerry Priv is currently available in all MemoXpress physical shops and online stores in the Philippines with a suggested retail price of Php 39,990.
