Asus to release an even more affordable ZenFone 2’s with Qualcomm and MediaTek chipsets

The already affordable Asus Zenfone 2 line of devices will have more variants available that are more affordable than what the company has previously announced. Asus just announced that the company will be releasing both Qualcomm and MediaTek equipped variants to the soon to be launch handsets.

Initially, the Asus Zenfone and the Zenfone 2 devices are all utilizing the Intel Atom processors and packs a considerable amount of performance features with a significantly lower price from competing devices. Despite the obvious affordability of the Zenfone line, Asus is still committed to bring an even more budget friendly handset that’s why they have tap other brands to power their devices.

Like the Intel variant, Both Qualcomm and MediaTek variants will have same specs to specs ratio with only difference in the processor itself. The ZenFone 2 features a 5.5-inch IPS display with full-HD resolution, either 4GB or 2 GB of RAM and with storage that start from 16 GB up to 64 GB. The MediaTek variant will be the cheapest variant of the three and will be targeted in markets where LTE is not that widely use but performance still an utmost priority. The Qualcomm variant however sits between the Intel and MediaTek offerings with performance that goes on par with the Intel based handset with the almost similar affordability of the MediaTek’s.

Furthermore, the Asus ZenFone 2 will feature a combination of 13-Megapixel main camera and a large 5-Megapixel camera on the front which favors the mobile imaging masses and the selfie centric individuals. Power and Performance cannot be fully utilized without power, that’s why the new ZenFone 2 series of devices is powered by a large 3000 mAh battery which should let users stay all day without being stranded in a wall outlet.

As new developments comes in, so does the details of its availability. The new ZenFone 2 series will launch first in Taiwan and in Hong Kong, Singapore, China and in France. By March, the handset will start shipping in Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand and Italy while the US will have the first ZenFone 2 devices available by April. On May the Japanese will have the handset and later in June for Brazil.
