With more mobility, convenience and customer satisfaction, today’s Apple event focuses more on smaller yet performance devices and with the newly announced smaller iPhone SE, Apple also introduced the newiPad Pro device andlike the new iPhone SE, the new iPad Pro device today also got the shrinking treatment which brings us to the iPad Pro’s highlighted features on a smaller 9.7-inch screen.
The new iPad Pro 9.7-inch variant takes the best features in the series and packed in a smaller and lightweight form factor. It’s 9.7-inch Retina screen features a 2048 x 1536 resolutions with 264 ppi pixel density display. It also features the new true-tone display feature from Apple which adapts to the environment and automatically adjust the tone of the screen base on the ambient lighting of the surrounding. It also features a fingerprint-resistant oleophobic coating and anti-reflective coating for maximum usability and optimized user experience.
Maintaining its top performance, the new 9.7-inch iPad Pro runs on 64-bit A9X processor and comes with M9 coprocessor. It comes with 4 strategically located speakers for optimum audio experience and a dual-microphone setup for voice clarity on better audio recording.
With the new 9.7-inch iPad Pro, the iSight camera has been upgraded to the line of the iPhone’s. It has a 12 Megapixel iSight sensor and features autofocus with focus pixels. hybrid IR filters, Backside Illumination (BSI) and auto image stabilization to name a few. It has 5-Elements lens with Sapphire crystal lens cover for protection against scratches and other environment hazards. It’s imaging capabilities is then supported by a dual-tone LED flash which makes the new iPad Pro a potential tools for taking photos for personal and work use. For video recording, the new iPad Pro supports 4K video recording, slo-mo video capture and the standard full-HD and HD video capture with 3x digital zoom.
For business and learning environment, the iPad Pro 9.7-inch comes equipped with a 5 Megapixel FaceTime camera which serves as a video conference tool and a Selfie camera with Apple’s Retina flash that turns the entire display into an alternative true-tone flash for self portrait shots.
The 9.7-inch iPad Pro will be available in either 4G and Wi-Fi only options with the two variants comes with standard iPad connectivity features including W-Fi 802.11 b/g/n/ac, support for Apple Pay with Touch ID functions within apps. The tablet runs on the latest iOS 9.3 with the celebrated True-tone display enabled and other new and improved features coming with the new operating system.
The new iPad Pro measure 240 x 169.5 x 6.1 mm and weighs around 437 grams for the Wi-Fi only variant and 444 grams for the 4G enabled variant. Color options includes: Silver, Gold, Space Gray and Rose Gold. Starting today, the new iPad Pro line will be available in 256 GB variant, something that has been look forward from Apple fans for some time already. Prices starts at $599 for the 32 GB Wi-Fi only option.
Pre-orders start on March 24 with actual units shipping on the 31st of March.
