When we heard the news that Apple is bringing back a smaller iPhone, we then thought something like the iPhone 5C in terms of design and even its underlying features. After several rumors and leaks, we then have some preliminary confirmation about the next smaller iPhone and i might indeed carries the same specifications as the iPhone 5C though it’s somewhat an improvement over the latter with a hint of design changes that mocked the iPhone 6 design reference including a curved glass panel.

Over the course of time, the rumored smaller iPhone was then discovered to a 4-inch device and many have speculated that the Cupertino giant will name this device the iPhone 6C or the iPhone 5E which later was known to be the iPhone SE. The product naming convention was recently been confirmed from an alleged photo of the retail for the smaller iPhone which explicitly indicated in text.

From the photo, the box also indicated 16GB which means that the handset will sport a 16 GB of internal memory, something of a great news given that the iPhone 5C came in more than two years ago with a little less memory of only 8 GB at its base. Though that doesn’t mean that the iPhone SE could not follow the same path as the its predecessor however rumors suggests that the smaller and newer iPhone will start of with 16 GB variant and there’s also an option for a 64 GB variant but no 32 GB this time around. Another thing about the new iPhone is that it may have to tone down some of its features coming from the iPhone 6s series but it will be sporting the current Apple A9 chipset.

With the internet full of fakes, we still can’t attest that this information are genuine and that means that we’ll have to keep out excitement tamed as we wait for Apple to announce the handset next week together with other devices that are said to be announced on March 21st. Stay tuned for more…
