Apple iPhone 5 users should update to iOS 10.3.4 to keep it working, Apple warns

Most Apple users have upgraded their phones to the latest or at least two generations behind the latest version of the iPhone. But there are those who still holds on their older iPhones. This one in particular is the Apple iPhone 5.
While in first world countries, the turn around between iPhone upgrades are prompt, in other places however, older iPhone devices such as the iPhone 5 or even lower are still being sold or used in those areas and most often, these devices are still holding to updates the the latest supported version of iOS with reasons only those users know about.
But Apple now warns iPhone 5 users to update their phones to the latest available software for their device. The consequence in now doing so, we’ll that iPhone will just refuse to go online.
Apple is already giving full screen alerts to users to update their iOS version which in this case is iOS 10.3.4 before 12AM UTC on November 3rd. The reason for such is that GPS time rollover issue that started in April will halt online features that requires correct date and time.
The update is available over-the-air but for those who can’t do it before the November 3rd should backup their iPhone 5 and restore it on a computer before they could install the latest supported software. Besides the iPhone 5, Apple also advised users of old Apple devices like the 4th-gen iPad to update as well as they are also affected by the same issue but in the case of the iPad, it would only lose GPS functionality and not entirely its online features.
