Apple iOS 13 brings a lot of new features and improvements including Dark Mode
Apple’s annual developer conference or known as WWDC unveiled a number of new products and services for personal and corporate use. One important announcements at WWDC19 is the new and upcoming iOS 13, the next version of Apple mobile operating system.
iOS 13 brings new features and improvements to devices that it powers the iPhone and touch-based iPods. While the new OS becomes official, it won’t be handed to users until the third quarter of 2019 and that’s expected at Apple would include the new operating system with the release of new iPhones.
Feature-wise, iOS 13 finally introduces iPhone users to dark mode which turns the whole iOS UI dark. It’s not exactly all black as we’d like to imagine but mostly a darker shade of gray and they are used all throughout the operating system.

3rd-party apps can also adopt dark mode if the developer would enable it manual, automatically or have it enabled to certain time of the day. Besides aesthetics, Dark mode on iOS could also help conserve power on iPhone models with OLED display.
Imaging is one of the best feature there is on any iOS device with already exceptional hardware, Apple is making sure that you’ll get the best there is. What good is the shot if you couldn’t browse them intuitively? Apple improves its own built-in Photos app to help you browse your photos easily.

Using its built-in machine learning algorithms, the new Photos app declutters duplicate photos and lets you browse by day or by month. It also features an auto-playing Live Photos and videos from the library.
Not only that, it also has a redesigned editing UI that helps you improved your photos with tools that allows you to adjust light settings, add filters and more. These tools are not only available for photos but for videos as well.

With iOS 13, Apple introduces Sign in with Apple system. This manages your account on apps by using Apple Sign in complete with secure authentication with FaceID or TouchID plus a two-factor authentication system.
With this feature, Apple will send a unique random ID to the app but for apps that requires a valid email address, you could either supply your email address or have Apple assign a random email address for you.
With privacy in focus, Apple makes more granular location permission on apps and adds background tracking alerts which details how apps uses your data and location information.

Apple Maps also gets a huge upgrade with a whole new UI and a bar at the bottom which lets you store and navigate your favorites. It also features a new Look Around function that works similarly like a Google Street View.

With Messages, you can now add your name and a Memoji so you can tell people who you are when you try to message them and they haven’t got any saved details of you. Memoji’s are even more customizable with Memoji stickers coming too.

Typing is much easier with iOS 13 thanks to a new swipe typing function. And about the Memoji we told you about, they can now be used in more apps as they are part of the keyboard.
One of the best part of iOS 13 is Siri with a new and better sounding voice. Siri has become less robotic and more human sounding this time around and she is smarter too. It can read out messages when you’re using your AirPods and lets you send a reply through voice straightaway. And she can also play live radio feeds from over a hundred thousand stations worldwide.
The Siri shortcuts on iOS 13 gets its own app and lets you manage shortcuts that Siri supports. It also suggests you new shortcuts now and again to help you with making your phone a bit easier to use.

The Reminders app also gets an updated look and works well with dark mode on and features a new quick toolbar to add times, dates, locations, flags, photos, and scanned documents to your reminders. Smart lists are more helpful, automatically organizing your reminders and grouping them by Flagged, Scheduled, and Today.
CarPlay has a new and simplified dashboard view with music, maps, and more in one single view, it also has a new Calendar app and Siri support for Pandora and Waze.
With a lot of features coming along with iOS 13, Apple also includes performance improvements to the mobile operating system. Face Unlock is now 30% faster. And apps are launched up to 2x faster with app downloads to be 50% smaller than it did over its predecessor and app updates are 60% smaller.
iOS 13 is now available for iPhone and iPod Touch devices for developers and will be released as a public beta later this month.
