Alcatel stylus toting Phablet “OneTouch Hero 2” goes official

Alcatel today announced the new OneTouch Hero 2, a large (and I mean Large) phablet with 6-inch IPS LCD display with full-HD resolution. It comes with it a capacitive stylus which attempts to compete against Samsung proven, tested and highly successful Note series. But instead of going with a Wacom digitizer, OneTouch Hero 2 goes with a capacitive type of stylus which works similar to the OneTouch Scribe and the recently announced LG G3 Stylus.

Under the beautifully crafted handset is a MediaTek MT6592 Quad-core Cortex-A7 processor running at 2GHz along with 2GB of RAM for a seamless devices operation. It comes with a built-in 16 GB of storage and can be expanded with microSD cards of up to 32 GB.

Connect to the network with ease, OneTouch Hero 2 supports 4G LTE, 3G and HSPA+ wireless connection with a number of other connectivity options including: Wi-Fi 802.11n, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS with A-GPS, GLONASS and NFC. Never miss a moment with the 13 Megapixel main camera with Optical Image Stabilization technology coupled with LED flash to assist in low-light conditions, It also comes with a high-resolution 5 Megapixel front camera which should be a great improvement over the first generation OneTouch Hero device and ultimately favors users who loves to take self-portrait shots.

The Alcatel OneTouch Hero 2 is equipped with a non-removable 3,100 mAh Li-Ion battery and runs Android 4.4.2 (KitKAt). Alcatel will start selling the new OneTouch Hero 2 by the end of September. It is priced at around 390 euros before duties and taxes in Europe. Though we have no word for release outside of Europe as of yet, we could expect Alcatel to make an international release soon after it starts the initial roll-out.
