55W fast-charger from Xiaomi just got certified and is coming for Redmi devices

Charging mobile devices such as smartphones nowadays is as important as having yourself present in a business meeting or beating a deadline as battery charge becomes more and more important in your digital age.

While competitors are shaving of their chargers from the retail box, Xiaomi on the other hand keeps improving on its charging bricks. As Leaked by Digital Chat Station, Xiaomi is working on a new 55W fast charger which recently has been certified by 3C.

According to the leaker, the new Xiaomi charging brick will head over to future Redmi and Xiaomi devices. The power brick has a model number MDY-12-EQ and is said to be an improvement from its predecessors including support for a 11V 5A fast-charging capabilities.

Fast charging isn’t new to Xiaomi and in fact, there are already devices in the market that comes with fast-charging bricks included in the box but for Redmi phones, they are still peg at 33W, having more than 50W chargers for Redmi devices is a welcome addition.
