DOH released COVID-19 CASE BULLETIN #54 at 16:00H (4:00PM PST) on May 07, 2020.
With today’s update, the Department of Health (DOH) reports 339 new cases of COVID-19. For the breakdown, 205 of these are from Region 7, 110 from NCR and 24 from other regions. The number of cases reported in the Philippines is now at 10,343.
We have more than a hundred new recoveries recorded for the past 24 hours with 112 new recoveries to be exact. Together with previous counts, the total number of recoveries in the country as of today is now at 1,618.
The number of deaths has gone to a total of 685 after 27 new deaths were added today.

COVID-19 was declared by World Health Organization (WHO) as a Pandemic on March 03, 2020 which started in Wuhan, China. The disease is caused by Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome – coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV2) with a Flu like symptoms such as Fever, Cough, Colds and in more severe cases Difficulty in Breathing.
There are no vaccines or direct cure for the disease at the moment and the only way to protect ourselves from getting infected is to practise proper and frequent handwashing, avoid touching our face, mouth, nose and eyes. Our health experts as well as the government urged everyone to wear a suitable and effective face mask as much as possible and when outside of our homes.
