DOH released COVID-19 CASE BULLETIN #49 at 16:00H (4:00PM PST) on May 02, 2020.
In today’s case bulletin, the Department of Health in the Philippines reports 156 new cases of COVID-19 with a total of 8,928 confirmed cases in the country.
40 new patients were confirmed to have recovered from the disease which brings our count to a total of 1,124.
Unfortunately, we have 24 new deaths tallied for today with our new Death count reaching 603.

COVID-19 was declared by World Health Organization (WHO) as a Pandemic on March 03, 2020 which started in Wuhan, China. The disease is caused by Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome – coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV2) with a Flu like symptoms such as Fever, Cough, Colds and in more severe cases Difficulty in Breathing.
There are no vaccines or direct cure for the disease at the moment and the only way to protect ourselves from getting infected is to practise proper and frequent handwashing, avoid touching our face, mouth, nose and eyes. Our health experts as well as the government urged everyone to wear a suitable and effective face mask as much as possible and when outside of our homes.
