We are now almost a thousand recoveries from COVID-19

DOH released COVID-19 CASE BULLETIN #45 at 16:00H (4:00PM PST) on April 28, 2020.

Today, the Department of Health reports another 181 new cases of COVID-19 cases in the country that brought our total number of cases rise to a total of 7,958. There are a total of 530 infected patients who succumbed to the disease in the Philippines after 19 new deaths were reported.

However, recoveries are increasing with 43 new recoveries reported today. With the addition of these new recoveries, the country now has a total of 975 confirmed recoveries.


COVID-19 was declared by World Health Organization (WHO) as a Pandemic on March 03, 2020 which started in Wuhan, China. The disease is caused by Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome – coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV2) with a Flu like symptoms such as Fever, Cough, Colds and in more severe cases Difficulty in Breathing.

There are no vaccines or direct cure for the disease at the moment and the only way to protect ourselves from getting infected is to practise proper and frequent handwashing, avoid touching our face, mouth, nose and eyes. Our health experts as well as the government urged everyone to wear a suitable and effective face mask as much as possible and when outside of our homes.
