US Consumer Product Safety Commission officially announced the Galaxy Note7 recall

Samsung confirms availability of replacement units by September 21st

The Galaxy Note7 recall is Samsung own initiative for the safety of its customers, the Korean tech giant has already mobilized its personnel to assist in the recall process around the globe. In the US, the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has announced the official recall of the Samsung Galaxy Note7 smartphone which denies and deemed illegal to sell and resell defective units of the smartphone in the country.

It also advised owners of the handset to stop using and to power down all recalled Galaxy Note7 units purchased before September 15, 2016. Samsung recently announced the availability of replacement units by September 21.

CPSC also revealed that there were 1 million units sold before September 15 and Samsung already received at least 92 cases of overheating units in the country. 55 of which has caused property damages and 26 cases of burns.

In other parts of the world, Samsung confirms that replacement units should be available by September 19 while here in the Philippines, Samsung clarified that new and replacement units should arrive in stores, carriers and service centers aroundOctober.
