Microsoft announced the new mid-range Nokia Lumia 830

Microsoft has finally unveiled its newest affordable flagship model the Nokia Lumia 830. It bears the familiar PureView technology commonly found on high-end Lumia devices but to make things affordable, the Lumia 830 will carry a 10 Megapixel sensor.

Microsoft is proud to present its thinnest Lumia device with Lumia 830 infused with what the company calls its “thinnest and lightest Optical Image Stabilization system” to date, resembling the Lumia 1020’s camera module housed in a shell borrowed from the Lumia 930 design and materials. Lumia 830 comes in a full metal frame with a polycarbonate back cover. To get the most out of its camera, the Lumia 830 is backed by a number of apps designed to managed and optimized images captured from the device. It also features Nokia’s Living Images where Photos will get a less than a second animation on every shot.

Basically, the Lumia 830 is a stripped down version of the larger and powerful Lumia 930, with that the Lumia 830 packs a lesser but still capable internals. It comes with a 1.2GHz Quad-core Snapdragon 400 processor, 1GB RAM and 16 GB of storage space. Furthermore users who wish to increase their storage space can do so with a microSD card supporting of up to 128GB capacity. Like the Lumia 930, the Lumia 830 is equipped with a 5-inch Clear Black display but instead of going full-HD, the affordable handset will have a 720p HD resolution instead.

Pack with rich recording features, the Lumia 830 is embedded with three high performance mics which can deliver a true 5.1 surround sound. Paired with Nokia camera’s distortion free performance for rich video recording in a mobile device without the hefty price tag.

The Lumia 830 when available comes preloaded with Lumia Denim update which contains performance improvements and especially to the camera operation which is said to have improved significantly with the Denim update.

Like any other Lumia devices, the Lumia 830 will feature colorful back covers where users can select from either green, orange, white and black. It will be available this month worldwide with a price of 330 euro or equivalent on other regions before duties and taxes.
